Yesterday the Daily News’ Christian Red reported that Greg Buceroni, a 48-year-old Pennsylvania man connected to a previous sex abuse case against a now-deceased Philadelphia businessman, “claims to have been paid to have sex with former Poly Prep football coach Phil Foglietta in 1979 as part of an alleged pedophile ring that included Jerry Sandusky.”
On Monday, Bucceroni sent an email to several Poly Prep administrators – including current headmaster David Harman – detailing the allegations.
That morning Bay Ridge Odyssey also received an email from Bucceroni, which contained the following statement:
1977-1980 I was a child prostitute associated with a tri-state (NYC-NJ-PA) pedophile ring that included Phil Foglietta, Ed Savitz, Lawrence Scott Ward, Bill Conlin, Sam Rappaport & Jerry Sandusky. Summer of 1979 I was brought to the State College PA area by Ed Savitz for the purpose of child prostitution with Jerry Sandusky at a Second Mile fundraiser, due to time constraints Sandusky became unavailable and I was introduced to Phil Foglietta by Ed Savitz & Jerry Sandusky, “Foglietta was introduced to us as Coach Phil who coached youth football in NYC.
Foglietta agreed to pay $200.00 for child sex and followed us back to a Philadelphia hotel from the State College area, myself ad another child prostitute then engaged coach Phil in child sex. Previously knowing his name I had recognized Coach Phil from previous 1978-1979 times while I was a runaway youth hanging in the NYC Times Square red light porn district, Coach Phil would ask runaway adolescent boys if they wanted to make a few extra $$ to go into a peep show viewing booth with him and watch a porn movie and engage in oral sex.
I am currently cooperating with a federal investigation involving the FBI & US Postal Inspectors regarding the Jerry Sandusky pedophile ring and child pornography which also now includes Phil Foglietta.
During multiple interviews, Bucceroni reportedly elaborated on Savitz and Sandusky’s relationship to Daily News reporters, affirming that the two men knew each other through the Second Mile, a charity Sandusky had founded.
As these startling revelations begin to merit more attention and further investigation, the Daily News writes, “U.S. District Court Judge Frederic Block — who is overseeing the Poly Prep sexual abuse lawsuit filed by 10 former students and two day campers — urged the plaintiffs and the school’s lawyers to reach a settlement.”
A source familiar with the case reportedly told the News that while no settlement has been reached, “there have been several settlement conferences before a magistrate judge.”
