LAUGHABLY NEEDLESS REMINDER: There are a number of houses in Dyker Heights, particularly around 12th Avenue in the 80s, that are impressively decorated for Christmas.
Did you know that there are actually bus tours from Manhattan for visitors to the city?
Tony Muia is the founder of A Slice Of Brooklyn Bus Tours. He last made the pages of Bay Ridge Odyssey when his show on Travel Channel was about to air, playing Brooklyn’s reality TV show good guy to Brooklyn 11223, the show everyone loved to hate (including me, until I decided to grow up).
In addition to his pizza tour, for which his bus company is best known for, A Slice Of Brooklyn also runs a “Christmas Lights & Cannoli” tour every night in December. The 3-1/2 hour tour leaves near Union Square and shows off the Christmas decorations of Dyker Heights and Bay Ridge. Included is a stop for a true Brooklyn cannoli and hot chocolate, granting tour patrons bragging rights over everyone in their hometown who has never had a Brooklyn cannoli.
Tour cost is $55 for adults, $45 for children under 12, cannoli and hot chocolate included. See A Slice Of Brooklyn Bus Tours website for more details.
