The Gold Coast Delicatessen, located at the corner of Third Avenue and 86th Street, closed its doors yesterday for the final time. Gold Coast opened less than a year ago, in July 2011.
Owners Ted Mann and Michael Esposito will continue to operate Cebu Bar & Bistro a couple of blocks down the street at 88th Street and 3rd Avenue. Mann is also a partner in eight other venues throughout Brooklyn in addition to Gold Coast and Cebu, including restaurant Apartment 138 (Boreum Hill), Bar Matchless (Greenpoint), and music hall Public Assembly (Williamsburg).
In March, Brownstoner.com noted that Mann’s newest project, a beer garden in Park Slope to be named Greenwood Park, had stalled, having significantly missed its original opening date of October 2011, and not having applied for a license with the State Liquor Authority.
