The Shore Road Parks Conservancy has announced two Christmas tree lightings approaching in the next seven days.

The first is tomorrow night (Wednesday, November 28) at the gazebo by 90th Street and Shore Road. Joining the celebration will be the Xaverian High School glee club and band, the Guild For Exceptional Children chorus, and community musician Mary Carmosino. The lighting is at 7:30pm, and light refreshments will be on hand. The rain date is November 29.

If you can’t make it tomorrow – or your Christmas spirit knows no bounds – then make your way up to Owl’s Head Park on Monday, December 3, where the Conservancy will be lighting the tree by 68th Street and Colonial Road. The GEC chorus will make an appearance at this tree lighting as well. The event runs from 7:30pm-9:30pm. The rain date is December 4.

Santa Claus is expected to attend both events.

Just got one out of the way. Almost – there’s still half-a-sheet of ice cream cake in the freezer.

And now there’s a pie social in Bay Ridge. November just keeps piling on. Continue reading »
