Greenfield Declares Victory as TSA Removes Full Body Scanners from NYC Airports
Councilman Called for Ban on Use in NYC in 2010
New York – Councilman David G. Greenfield is pleased that the federal Transportation Security Administration has finally begun removing full-body x-ray scanners from major airports throughout the country, including JFK and LaGuardia airports here in New York City. Greenfield called for a ban on the use of this incredibly invasive and potentially dangerous technology in all New York City airports, courthouses and other buildings in 2010 due to concerns that this procedure does not actually increase safety and violates an individual’s right to privacy.
