The following is a press release from the office of City Councilman Vincent Gentile:

BAY RIDGE – Responding to the recent craters in Bay Ridge, Councilman Vincent J. Gentile will call on Fort Hamilton Commanding Officer Col. Eluyn Ginés and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to convene a geological survey of the southwest Brooklyn bedrock.

Bay Ridge got its name for the prominent and unique geographic features of the area. Councilman Gentile is concerned this may have something to do with the two sinkholes that opened up this summer. Continue reading »

All 6 foot 5 inches of New York City Public Advocate Bill de Blasio is slated to appear at tonight’s meeting of the Bay Ridge Democrats, writes Kip of Bay Ridge Journal.

The altitudinous advocate will be at the club’s monthly gathering, which is taking place in the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd [7420 4th Ave] at 7:30 p.m.
