bks_Hinsch-Sign-150x300The Hinsch Luncheonette, located on 5th Avenue near the intersection with 86th Street, will reopen next Monday, November 28, according to a report by the Home Reporter & Sunset News. New owners Gerard Bell, Lola Bell, and William Gardella made the announcement at a meeting of the 68th Precinct Community Council according to the report. Gardella and the Bells – who own Skinflints along with a fourth partner – purchased the landmark diner after a sudden closing in late September by former owner John Logue. Logue cited general economic problems as a reason for the closure according to an earlier report by the Brooklyn Paper / Brooklyn Daily, which also noted that the closure was triggered by a Department of Health inspection.
